EFTA’s Airline Pilot Program (APP) is set up in modules that allow you to study at your leisure. The course is set up in 4 distinctive blocks that continually build upon your knowledge and new experiences. Please read the descriptions of the modules below.

MODULE 1 -Your adventure begins working towards a Private Pilot License (PPL). You get experience flying using Visual Flight Rules (VFR) which affords you the freedom of flying safely by day and night relative to weather conditions. In this module, you will also receive a Night Qualification permit which allows you to fly at night. Normally, it takes approximately 50 flight hours of which 5 hours of night flight are a must. Have you flown Stockholm by night?
MODULE 2 - Now that you have your PPL you can start accumulating flight experience. You will fly and log approximately 80 hours as a Pilot in Command (PIC) and work closely with your instructors, who monitor, evaluate, and give you feedback concerning your progress and success. You may choose to begin reading theory from Module 3 parallel to Module 2.
MODULE 3 - Theory Pass. During Module 3 your theory studies of Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL) bring you closer to your goal of being a commercial pilot. The focus is on Instrument Flying Rules (IFR) and the parts related to commercial airline activities. For your convenience, EFTA has made it possible for you to study your ATPL theory online. Read more under ATPL Theory.
MODULE 4 - The final module. You are now in the final phase of the Airline Pilot Program! You will build up your skills in instrument flying (IFR) that will take you from your private pilot to your commercial pilot. You fly approximately 55 hours in a multi-engine aircraft and 30 hours in a multi-engine simulator without visual references (IFR). After you complete this module you acquire your certificate which allows you to begin your career as a commercial pilot.
